Product Description

SIT3490EESA contains independent transmit and receive paths for a full-duplex RS-485 or RS-422 link. Its eight-pin interface has separate Y/Z driver outputs and A/B receiver inputs, with no separate driver-enable or receiver-enable pins. The connection therefore differs from a two-wire half-duplex transceiver whose transmitter must be switched on and off.

The receiver presents a one-eighth unit load, permitting up to 256 such loads on a bus under the documented loading model. Its -7 to +12 V receiver common-mode range and 14 Mbps data-rate capability are separate selection limits; a particular cable and termination still determine the link's operating conditions. The EESA order is the SOP-8 package and operates from 3.0 to 5.5 V.
