Nexperia Discretes, Logic and Protection

Nexperia devices handle switching, signal interfacing and protection around a system controller. MOSFETs control power paths, diodes rectify or clamp signals, logic and voltage translators connect digital circuits, and ESD devices protect exposed interfaces. Each function requires its own electrical and package checks; a shared package does not establish interchangeability.

PRODUCT FUNCTIONS

MOSFET power and signal switching

Nexperia MOSFETs range from small-signal devices to power switches in copper-clip LFPAK packages. Package choice affects the board footprint and heat path; gate-drive voltage, switching behavior and safe operating area must also match the load.

PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS

Rectifier, switching and Zener diodes

Schottky rectifiers, switching diodes and Zener devices perform different jobs in a power or signal path. Forward loss, reverse leakage, recovery behavior and voltage tolerance matter in different ways. Confirm the diode function before comparing package or current ratings.

PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS

Logic and voltage translation

Nexperia logic gates and buffers implement control functions, while NXB/NXS families offer auto-direction voltage translation between supply domains. Supply range, input thresholds and output type must fit the interface. Auto-direction parts and direction-controlled translators require different circuit checks.

PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS

ESD protection for signal interfaces

ESD protection devices limit transient stress on exposed signal lines. Working voltage, clamping behavior and capacitance must match the interface and its signal-integrity budget. A device selected for a slow control line is not automatically suitable for a high-speed data lane.

Typical applications

PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS

Input power and reverse-polarity protection

Input protection may use a series diode, a MOSFET arrangement or an ideal-diode solution. These choices trade conduction loss, control complexity and reverse-current behavior. Nexperia application guidance helps identify the topology before selecting individual parts.

PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS

Cordless tool power and control

A cordless tool combines a battery path, motor switching and low-voltage control electronics. Nexperia maps discrete and logic devices to these separate functions. Review battery voltage, motor current and thermal conditions for the power stage, then check logic levels and protection around the controller.
