Buyer risk points #
- Same package, different generation. TDA21590 (TDA21xxx) and TDA21490/TDA21472 (TDA214xxx) share the 5×6 mm PQFN footprint but are different generations with different telemetry and feature sets. Treat them as engineering-evaluated alternatives, not automatic equivalents.
- Footprint trap with TDA22590. The TDA22590 is also 90 A but uses a 4×6 mm UFLGA-34 package. The two are not interchangeable without a board change.
